SKP Carbon

Carbon project development and market access in Pakistan

Carbon opportunity assessment, project design and registration support, monitoring and issuance, Article 6 work, transactions and I-REC electricity certificates.

About SKP Carbon

Part of SKP Group, SKP Carbon works with businesses and project owners seeking to turn eligible emissions reductions into carbon-market opportunities. Our project experience includes wind and solar power, waste heat recovery, industrial fuel switching and biomass. We also support renewable electricity certificate activity.

Our approach brings project documentation, technical coordination and commercial considerations together. We work with clients to identify the relevant pathway, organise the evidence and engage the specialists and counterparties needed for the assignment.

Pakistan experience with international connections

Our portfolio includes work involving the Clean Development Mechanism, Verra's Verified Carbon Standard, the Global Carbon Council and I-REC electricity certificates, alongside support for projects pursuing transition to the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism under Article 6.4.

We work with multiple international partners, project developers, technical specialists and buyers. The team and delivery arrangements are matched to the project, its market and the client's requirements.

Selected project experience

Renewable power and industrial projects in Pakistan

The examples below describe specific workstreams and milestones. Registration, verification, issuance and sale are separate stages, and each entry states which of them our work covered.

CDM 10330

Fauji Cement waste heat recovery

SKP Carbon supported the verification process and a completed Certified Emission Reduction transaction for Fauji Cement Company Limited's waste heat recovery project. The assignment illustrates the connection between monitoring evidence, independent review and carbon-market transactions.

CDM 10365

Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park

Our experience includes multiple completed CER transactions associated with the 100 MW solar photovoltaic project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park in Bahawalpur.

VCS 1346

FFCEL wind power

For the 49.5 MW FFCEL wind power project, our work covered support across registration, independent verification, issuance and sale. These stages connect project documentation with the delivery and commercialisation of issued credits.

VCS 1559

Master Wind

Our work on the 49.5 MW Master Wind project covered support through registration, independent verification, issuance and sale.

In progress

Two ongoing biogas projects

SKP Carbon is currently working on two biogas projects. These form part of our ongoing portfolio; project-specific milestones will be shared as the work progresses.

Selected work

Industrial and energy portfolio

Additional portfolio work includes waste heat recovery at Maple Leaf Cement and Attock Cement, biomass fuel switching at Sapphire Finishing Mills, and transition-related assignments involving wind generation and DG Khan Cement projects. Our renewable-energy portfolio also includes work involving the Global Carbon Council and I-REC electricity certificates.

Sectors and project opportunities

Where projects come from

Our experience spans renewable energy, industrial emissions reduction and biogas. We also welcome enquiries across the wider sectors below, with opportunities assessed against project circumstances, applicable methodologies and national requirements.

Renewable power

Wind and solar projects, with carbon-market and renewable electricity certificate pathways assessed separately.

Cement and industrial energy

Waste heat recovery, alternative fuels and industrial fuel switching.

Textiles and biomass

Biomass-based thermal energy and fuel-switching opportunities in manufacturing.

Biogas and organic waste

SKP Carbon is currently working on two biogas projects, alongside its wider energy and industrial portfolio.

Wider sectors we assess

  • Mobility and electric vehicles: electric fleets, buses, two- and three-wheelers, charging networks and lower-emission transport programmes.
  • Landfills and municipal waste: landfill methane capture, gas utilisation, organic-waste diversion and composting.
  • Wastewater and agro-industry: methane recovery and treatment improvements at municipal facilities and food, beverage and agricultural processing operations.
  • Agriculture and livestock: rice methane reduction, manure management, improved farm practices, soil carbon and livestock emissions.
  • Forestry and land restoration: afforestation, reforestation, agroforestry, degraded-land rehabilitation, bamboo planting and eligible forest management activities.
  • Coastal ecosystems and blue carbon: mangrove, tidal wetland and seagrass restoration opportunities.
  • Clean cooking and household energy: efficient cooking, electric cooking, household biogas and eligible safe-water interventions.
  • Biochar and carbon removal: sustainable biomass conversion and durable carbon-storage opportunities.
  • Buildings and energy efficiency: efficient cooling, lighting, heating and improvements in commercial and industrial energy use.
  • Circular economy and materials: recycling, resource efficiency and lower-emission production; plastic-credit opportunities are assessed separately from carbon credits.

Sector coverage is an invitation to assess opportunities, not a statement that every activity qualifies for credits or that SKP has completed projects in every category. Specialist assignments may draw on international partners and technical experts.

Our delivery approach

Connecting projects with suitable markets

We consider the relevant voluntary carbon-market or Article 6 pathway alongside national climate priorities. Pakistan's NDC provides strategic context; inclusion in an NDC does not itself confer carbon-credit eligibility or approval for an international transfer.

Clear responsibilities at every stage

Project owners provide operational data and implement the project. SKP Carbon provides the agreed advisory and coordination services. Independent auditors assess the relevant evidence, and programmes and authorities make registration, issuance and authorisation decisions.

This clarity helps clients understand what has been completed, what remains outstanding and which decisions depend on third parties.

International collaboration

We bring together multiple international partners, project developers, technical specialists and buyers where an assignment requires their expertise or market access. Each engagement has a defined scope and delivery arrangement.

How an engagement works

  1. 01

    Understand the opportunity

We discuss the asset, project stage, ownership, objectives and available information.

  2. 02

    Assess the route

We examine the potential pathway, evidence needs and key technical and commercial constraints.

  3. 03

    Agree the scope

We define responsibilities, deliverables and the specialists or counterparties needed for the assignment.

  4. 04

    Prepare and coordinate

We organise documentation and support the relevant development, monitoring, review or transaction workstream.

  5. 05

    Follow through

We track outstanding actions and help clients prepare for the next milestone.

Questions and project enquiries

What clients usually ask first

Can every renewable energy or industrial project earn carbon credits?

No. Eligibility depends on the applicable programme, methodology, project circumstances and supporting evidence. An initial assessment helps identify whether a credible development route exists.

Does registration mean credits have been issued?

No. Registration, monitoring, independent verification and issuance are distinct stages. A registered project should not be described as having issued or sold credits unless those milestones have been completed.

Does SKP Carbon certify projects?

We support project development, documentation, monitoring and coordination with independent auditors. Certification and issuance decisions sit with the relevant programme or mechanism and its approved processes.

Are I-REC certificates the same as carbon credits?

No. I-REC(E) certificates track electricity-generation attributes, while carbon credits represent quantified emissions reductions or removals under a carbon-crediting programme. They serve different purposes.

Can you guarantee a carbon price or project approval?

No. Approval depends on the relevant requirements and decision-makers. Commercial outcomes depend on project quality, available credits, buyer demand and agreed terms. We help clients understand and manage those dependencies.

What should I share for an initial discussion?

Tell us the project location, technology, scale, operating or planned start date, current registration status and the support you need. Existing project documents and monitoring records can help us assess the next step.

Discuss your project with SKP Carbon
